For many elderly, the pandemic has been months of isolation from those they love— isolation from children, who are kept at a distance, isolation from human touch, which is always at least a layer of plastic away. Older adults with active social lives were particularly affected with issues ranging from depression to impaired ambulatory ability as they waited for the vaccine.
