Thomas Szlukovenyi

Photographer and picture editor , currently curator at the Archive of Modern Conflict
Thomas Szlukovenyi is a Canadian born in Hungary. During his professional career, he worked at Hungarian News Agency MTI, the Hungarian newspaper Nepszava and The Globe and Mail. He is also a former photographer and later Global Photo Editor of Thomson Reuters. Presently, Thomas Szlukovenyi is a curator of the London-Toronto-based Archive of Modern Conflict. He specializes in the collection of photography from Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. His motto when it comes to photo contests is the following: “A photograph which meets the editor's expectation from a professional photojournalist should not win contests.”
