Kritsiopi Panayiota, 81, reacts to a wildfire approaching her house in the village of Gouves on Greece's Evia Island on August 8, 2021. Following a long heatwave, which was actually the most scorching one Greece has seen in 30 years, thousands of residents were evacuated by boat after wildfires engulfed Greece’s second largest island.
